Orders / Shipments
Q. How do I place an order? A. We recommend sending the printable order form or copy & paste from the emailable order form. On orders paid with a credit card, even those to be shipped via email, be sure to include the billing address (we need it for verification purposes).
Q. Do you accept Paypal? A. Yes, here's how: 1) at the PayPal web site employ the PayPal Virtual Debit Card to get a virtual MasterCard number, then 2) use that number when you order from us.
Q. Do you accept American Express or Discover? A. American Express, no. We can process Discover if that is your only option, but cannot recommend using their card. Customers have reported being sued by Discover for charges Discover had promised to instead credit to their account. We'd hate to see them do that to you too. If you have no other credit card, simply send us a check or money order. Money orders can be obtained at US Post Offices.
Q. Is there a secure server for electronic orders? A. Not at the present time. If you are concerned about credit card security, we suggest submitting your order via conventional mail, fax or phone. An option to also consider: many credit card issuers now offer single-use credit card numbers.
Q. I tried to fax but could not. A. Be sure you are dialing the fax extension: call our fax, listen for the message that requests the fax access code, press it, wait for the fax tone, then start sending. If you continue to have trouble please send your order via other means.
Q. How much is the SuperChief package? A. It's discounted to $44 if you purchase it at the same time you register RBP ($25), which makes the total $69.
Q. What happens if I omit my pre-registration number? A. Without the pre-registration number the game displays on your computer (Help, Registration Numbers menu) we cannot look up and provide your proper passcode, and that causes delay. We'll process your order, and reply that you need to send us that number. Pre-registration numbers begin with the letter P. The only common reason you would not be able to provide the pre-registration number when you order is because you have not downloaded and installed the game, and are instead ordering a copy of it on CD.
Q. How much is the Ambassador CD? A. The Ambassador CD is our "all-in-one" package, so the $89 price on an order form already includes the RBP registration fee. This is sent on CD so be sure to add the shipping/handling fee.
Q. I want to register RBP and get it on CD. What is the lowest cost? A. The registration fee is $25, plus the shipping/handling fee (within the USA) is $5, which makes the total $30. If you omit the S/H fee, it indicates you want to download the game from our site rather than get it on a CD. Within 30 days of receipt of an RBP CD, install the game onto the primary computer on which you want to use it and send us the pre-registration number the game shows; we will reply with your passcode.
Q. Can I get RBP emailed to me? A. We do not send the game software via email. We only send registration codes and add-on items (such as alternate game maps) via email. You can download RBP from this page.
Q. Do you sell copies of Avalon Hill's old Rail Baron board game? A. Sorry, no, that board game is out of print. Your best source is probably eBay. We do sell a new series of Rail Baron™ brand board games.
Q. I didn't receive my order via email. I have a Gmail account. A. Several users have reported that Gmail rejects email attachments, specifically ones that contain the RBPEdit map editor. If you do not receive a reply from us within 2 business days, and are using a Gmail account, please send us an alternate (non-Gmail) email address at which to contact you. (Gmail's explanation) If you do not have another email address, we can send your order on CD if you add the shipping/handling charge as shown on an order form.
Q. How long until I get my items? A. Most items shipped via email go out the same day, or next business day. Most shipments via conventional mail go out within a week of receipt.
Q. After registering, how do I get my passcode? A. Send us the pre-registration number RBP shows on the primary computer on which you want to use the game. To obtain that, run RBP and use the Help, Registration Numbers pull-down menu. For fastest service, include this pre-registration number right on your order form.
Q. What is your return / refund policy? A. Returns for a refund (less shipping/handling and outside USA fee, if any) are permitted upon your request before we send you your passcode; we must receive such refund request along with any associated physical items (such as CDs) within 30 days of processing your order. No refunds are permitted after we have sent your passcode. Prior to placing your order, we encourage you to take advantage of the software's free trial period to determine if it works acceptably for you.
Q. Oops, my check bounced or I did a chargeback. A. That invalidates your registration, but we can get you back on track if you pay the missing amount plus a $50 service fee to cover expenses.
Q. Do you accept orders from outside the USA? A. Many companies won't sell to foreign customers because it is more expensive to do so (added tech support, bank fees, etc.). We will accept orders from outside the USA if you are willing to pay a 10% surcharge, even on orders shipped via email. By submitting an order from, or intended for, outside the USA, you agree to allow us to append this fee if you have omitted it. This fee is non-refundable. Payments should be made in US dollars. You remain liable for any import duties of your country.
